faxing

So I had to obtain a few copies of some police reports and the only way I could get what I needed was through faxing.

I looked to Linux to solve my issue. I presently run it all on my user machines and servers, but after searching for several hours, nothing was out there that didn't require hours of setup. There are 20,000 plus programs for free for linux, but not a damn faxing one?!

So, I ended up using a Windows 7 machine which had the faxing program built in. I'm rather salty about that.

I checked into hylafax and several others, but that was just too much for receiving three faxes.

Anyone come across something I've missed?

We use hylafax+avantfax as our faxserver, but if I had to do a 'one-off', I'd probably look at web-based solutions such as efax.co.uk. There's very little demand for fax, and so the chances are that if you need it, you need it fairly often (hylafax).
