Hello,

I want to upgrade my Ubuntu.
It's 9.10/Karmic but the Update Manager it's showing upgrade to 10.04.3 LTS (attached a pic of it).

How to upgrade to specific version like 10.10 or, latest stable release?

Thanks.

Unless you want to reinstall you have to upgrade to 10.04 first, then 10.10, then 11.04, then 11.10 which is the latest stable release. Since 12.04 will be out next month, that seems like a great deal of upgrade. If I were you, I would backup any data that I could not live without, download 11.10 and install it. If you have enough room on your hard drive install 11.10 next to your 9.10 which has reached its end of life and is no longer supported.

Thanks for clarification Rex.

Have enough extra space in hard rive. So,I'll try downloading 11.10 and multi-boot.

Great. Don't forget to run an MD5Sum on the download and burn it at the lowest possible speed. That will give you the best possibility of success.

Actually, you can upgrade to 10.04, and then directly to 12.04 when it comes out.
