Ubuntu 11.10 HDMI no sound

Hi!I am new on Ubuntu.I use Ubuntu11.10 and when I connect my laptop to the HDMI I have view but NO sound.In addition,whenever I am editing the volume on the TV I have sound for 1s and then stop again.
Any solution?
