Am I missing something or the link is going to a "Ubuntu 12.04 .ISO Will Remain CD Sized" page?

It's misdirection, this may be bigger news than jupiter being ported to python. :)

Here's the correct url:

Oh, thanks cariboo907!

The applet looks great, even not being an official port. It just needs some polishing in order to kill some reported bugs.
I'm looking forward to this!

Regards.

It is an official port, webupd8 was a little early. The whole story is that Jorge is a new developer at the Jupiter project and has built a new (python) applet that supports libappindicator to replace the aging C# applet.

I'll announce something official once it is ready for prime time, which isn't quite yet, but very close. :)

Very nice! Do you plan of creating a personal PPA for this, or will you keep using webupd8's one?

Regards.

I don't plan to change how Jupiter is supported downstream at Webupd8, however if Jorge wants to create a PPA I would support him as I do Webupd8 when needed today.

FYI: http://www.fewt.com/2012/03/jupiter-applet-now-with-appindicator.html

Hopefully you'll see it in a PPA, or someone will sponsor pulling it directly into Ubuntu mainline.

Awesome work, fewt. I've been using Jupiter for about a year. It seems to help with some heat problems that I tend to have with this laptop when using the Power Savings mode.
