Hi,
I want to install Ubuntu on my second 3.5TB HDD along side Fedora 15. Booting from DVD to install
but Ubuntu did not find my second HDD only my first HDD with Win 7 which I do not want to touch.
My setup is not a typical dual boot system, I prefer selecting which HDD to boot from at the moment
I do not want to deal with Grub 2 etc, so I just went in to select which HDD I want to boot.
But now I want to dual-boot Ubuntu woth Core 15, please help.
thank so much.

Boot into ubuntu live mode and run the boot info script from the link in my signature. It should show more details. Post the results as explained there.

You installed Fedora as LVM. That's why ubuntu can't detect it.
Do you plan to install ubuntu on the LVM too?

I am not sure, please advice. I do not really know what I was doing in Fedora installation. What is the beast way.

I don't want to sound harsh, but you need to be asking the questions before doing the install, not after.
In this situation, I really don't know what is best, or if it can be done. Usually I haven't seen two linux versions on the same LVM.
Also, to install ubuntu on LVM you need a separate /boot partition outside the LVM (like fedora has the sdb1 partition). But now you have no unpartitioned space to create one more small partition outside the LVM. And if you start shrinking the LVM who knows what might happen (although in theory it should be possible).
In theory you might be able to shrink sdb1 to half its current size, and use that space for ubuntu boot partition. If you want to go ahead with it.

As I recall, using LVM is the only choice I have in order for Fedora to recognize my 2TB HDD and USB storage hard drive.
On my Fedora side, there are several software licenses that I purchased so do not just want to reinstall everything, my research might come to a halt which is undesirable.
Since I am not very good at Linux, I think the best I can do at this point is probably purchase a new HDD and install Ubuntu on it. Again I need Ubuntu because Fedora does not have libxview.so.3 library that I need
to run an important software for my work.
thanks

Your 2TB hdd has a msdos partition table. If it had gpt partition table maybe it would have installed without LVM.
Yeah, in this case getting another disk might be the best way forward.
Another option is shrinking the win7 partition a little, depending how much space you need for ubuntu. But you also said you don't like touching the win7 disk too.
