Are C# games playable in linux?

I was making a game in C# in windows and am just wondering if I take out ALL the xna components will it be playable in Linux. I've moved totally over to linux and am willing to rewrite to make it playable if C# games can be ran in Linux but have so much work done on it already I'd hate to trow it all away now.

I think, but I might be wrong, that the XNA framework does not work on Linux. A quick google search seems to offer an alternative though:
