Safe to remove ubuntu-desktop?

I installed Ubuntu 11.10. I recently installed xubuntu-desktop, and prefer it over ubuntu-desktop. Is it safe to remove ubuntu-desktop?

Yeah, sure (almost), as it's just a meta-package (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MetaPackages) anyway. LOL :D
