My main workstation runs 10.04 and I updated it to use emacs 23.3.2 a while back using a repository from the emacs-lisp guys (http://jeffbeeman.com/node/120).
I have a nice new laptop running 11.10 and it comes with the old emacs 23.3.1 (which crashes in org-mode).
I can (and will) dig in and rebuild or install 23.3.2 directly if I really have to but I was surprised I could not find a repo to make it easy.
Does anyone know of an easy way to bring emacs up to date on ubuntu 11.10?
