i've been attempting to create a persistent flash drive running ubuntu 11.10 using universal usb installer. i've tried different persistent sizes, anywhere from 100MB to 2 gigs -- i'm using a 4gig flash drive. when i use no persistence or <100MB, it boots up fine, otherwise, can't boot. it throws out an error of kernel missing some file(sorry, can't remember the file name).

How are you attempting to create the USB? Can you be very specific about which operating system, which program you are using, and your settings.

How large is the USB drive; is it empty before you start; how is it formatted (e.g. FAT32)?
