hello guys ,am trying to install ubuntu on acer aspire 4738 with pre installed window 7 when I insalled it from live mode and restarted it didn't show any boot loader instead it directly booted windows 7 ,

so i figured it must be a SATA HDD .
so my Question is ,
HOW CAN I INSTALL UBUNTU ON A LAPTOP SATA HDD

many thanks .

It is not a SATA issue although sometimes BIOS settings can make a difference.

From Ubuntu liveCD or USB download and run the boot infoscript. This may be able to repair your install also.

Boot Repair:

You can repair many boot issues with this or post the link to a run of boot info script so we can see your exact configuration.
