Hi, I recently built a new PC and I'm trying to launch any kind of linux distro on it, but I can't seem to get any one distro to launch that I try. Since Ubuntu is my go-to distro I'm in need of some help from you guys. I'm not new to linux at all and used it for a few years on my old laptop.

It seems to freeze halfway through the boot process right after the message:
SCSI removable disk detected or something close to that. I'm not really sure how to preceed and every distro I try does this same exact thing.

Computer specs are:
Intel Core i5 2500k
Asus P8Z68-V LE motherboard
Nvidia GTX 570
8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 686MHz
Seagate 500GB HDD

So I figured taking a picture of the part where it freezes might be more useful. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w289/watupgroupie/IMG_20120226_201924.jpg Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Tried booting up using a DVD since I've had better luck doing that than with USB in the past. Still froze around USB detection, I even unplugged everything to do with USB just to be sure. Maybe it's a problem with USB 3.0? http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w289/watupgroupie/IMG_20120226_204438.jpg
