I was trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 on my PC via CD after having replaced the broken hard disk.
The PC boots from CD but when I click on install I get the following error message: "ubi-prepare failed with exit 126". Google could not help me in finding the meaning of this exit code...
The CD seems to be OK since the installer starts (under Windows) on another PC of mine.
I am speculating that maybe the CD drive of the PC I want to install Ubuntu on might be broken but I am not sure.
Maybe someone can shed light on this error.
