You can get some idea of what is available if you browse the internet for linux mind mapping software

One example is http://www.informationtamers.com/WikIT/index.php?title=Free_mind_mapping_%28and_related_t ypes%29_software (http://www.informationtamers.com/WikIT/index.php?title=Free_mind_mapping_%28and_related_t ypes%29_software)
"There are regular inquiries on Twitter and in forums about free mind mapping software, so to provide answers, InformationTamers have put together this list. So here is a quick list of current software that is free or has a free option. Apps that are free for a trial-period only are excluded. "

I just installed FreeMind through the Ubuntu Software Center, and from what I have seen so far, it seems to be a great mind mapping tool.
