Hey all. Last year I bought a Dell Vostro 3500 laptop, that had that stupid Nvidia/Intel Optimus video switching technology.

This has kept me from being able to run Ubuntu 10.04 on the laptop.

Does anyone know if there has been a workaround made yet? Something that will either switch between the integrated Intel video and my Nvidia 310M automatically, manually, or at least disable the 310M completely so it doesn't drain battery?

Any updated info would be appreciated. All the info I seem to google up on the issue is a year or so old now, wondering if there have been any updates to this story.

edit: And yes, I've tried all the old workarounds from last year heh, nothing worked. And my BIOS has no option to disable the 310M chip.
