I've been trying out Kubuntu. My latest problem is that I can change the color of everything except the menus in FF, Chrome and various menus and buttons here and there. The menus in Chrome are white on white, as in FF. Completely unreadable. I have tried every setting I can think of, but haven't been able to alter these menus. What's up?

The programs you mention use GTK (Gnome) rather than Qt (KDE), so they don't follow your normal theme settings.

Have you already played around with the settings under System Settings > Application Appearance > GTK Config? In FF you can adjust colors via Edit > Preferences > Content > Colors.

I assume you are using a dark theme since you report white text on white backgrounds. I admit I have not found an easy way to run a dark theme without adjusting lots of settings in individual programs. :P
