How do I invoke and use the freewnn Chinese input package?

I tried typing freewnn in xterm and it said "command not found".

I tried using the "Input Method Switcher" but freewnn wasn't an option.

The problem I have with fcitx is that only 5 characters come up when I type pinyin. How do I scroll through and pick the character I want? How can I switch between old and new characters?

Hi, there. I have no experience with freewnn, but I use the first input method listed here: http://www.pinyinjoe.com/linux/ubuntu-10-chinese-input-pinyin-chewing.htm

That link has a guide to other Chinese input methods as well. I hope it helps.
