64 will run fine, but on 2GB RAM 32-bit may work better as 64 tends to use more RAM.

Hello and welcome to the forums,

If you have 64bit hardware, then it is best to use 64bit ubuntu.

12.04 is still in Beta and will not be released until the end of April.

Hi, 12.04 is still in testing so you do not want to install it.

If you want it really fast go with Lubuntu or xubuntu.
Thanks

It depends on what you are looking for. If stability is your main concern then 10.04 LTS is great. However, if you want more of the latest tech then 11.10 is your choice. I don't recommend using 12.04 due to it still being in alpha testing I believe.

hope this helps
