Do you have synaptic installed? if so, search compiz and install compizconfig-settings-manager and any extra plugins,
or in terminal

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-managerfor more compiz fun see this, my post for experimental plugins !

Compiz is not going. Ccsm will still be in repo for now at least.

yea, i know it's still there,

but.. it's so buggy, i think there is only one person keeping it afloat,

can i use kwin without switching to KDE?

is there anyway to just get wobbly windows without messy hacks?

for example emerald was great, but it's not in the repos anymore,

so w're stuck with the other window mangers and i have a hard time changing windows boarders/styles/color just to get wobbly windows. it's a mess

The Wobbles work fine for me....

Sure. How well it will work is another matter:

kwin --replace

How to permamently add it is another question, I'd have to look that up.

CSSM is fine if you take care. I would hate to be without the burn window on close effect. No real practical use but fun anyway.

If I recall correctly E17 has an option of using ecomorph which has a wobbly window effect. I don't think ecomorph can be used outside of E17 though.
