Cannot receive email w/ attachment

I am using Ubuntu 10.04,

I cannot receive emails with attachments,but i can receive test mails w/out attachments.

I cannot help much but I think it would be very useful if you say how are you reading the mails: are you using a program (like thunderbird) or by surfing the net?
