Ubuntu Live displaying blank screen when booted of a USB

Hi there, I'm having problem with my installation of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, I can't boot into the live environment which is booted of a USB because every time I try to boot into the live environment my monitor says there is no signal, could it something to do with the video drivers ?.

When I boot into Ubuntu 12.04 live it lets me boot in and try Ubuntu

It may simply be that 10.04 lacks the required driver for your screen.

Try running 11.10 (unless you specifically want 12.04), because 11.10 is the latest stable release.

If you want LTS, install 11.10 for now and install 12.04 in May after it has had a couple of weeks to settle.
