Hi,

During installation of 11.04 I mounted /home on the same partition with the same login which I had on previous 9.10. I got into trouble cause I don't see my 30GB data now. The thing is I've chosen to encrypt /home on last installation probably.
I tried to get to those files by LiveCD and from Windows but they're not seen through that.

Is it possible to have back that data?

If you encrypted your new home directory, you've probably lost your data; everything would have been overwritten.

If your last install was encrypted, you're probably not going to have much luck, even if you have the key. If you don't have the key, I'm sorry but you have no chance at all.

If there was no encryption, you could try testdisk/photorec from a CD, but stop using that drive as it is.

I have the key, I mean I know what I always write there. How to begin to try?
