Hi all;

After getting a new Wireless USB which works with ubuntu :-)

I want to run the latest ubuntu 11.10? Should i run 32bit or 64bit

Ive got 3GB of RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 GFX Card
Triple core proccessor (Sorry forgot name)

So should i install 32bit or 64bit for best performance! :-)

Thanks, Jamie.

The way I see it, I make the choice according to memory size. 32bit can use only little less than 4GB of memory.

You have 3GB so even 32bit would not handycap your memory. But if you maybe plan to upgrade the memory in future, you better install 64bit right now so you don't need to reinstall later.

Yes i do plan to upgrade my memory eventually, Just need to buy it haha.

I guess I'll get 64bit as I plan to upgrade.

Thanks, If i actually thought about it, I wouldn't of had to make this thread

If you have a 64bit processor, then use 64bit ubuntu. I only have 2GB RAM and my system runs great with 64bit.
