i've read all the documentation of the blank screen. I have an ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870. I don't even get the normal boot screen of a purple like color/keyboard+person. all i get is a text box with try ubuntu, install ubuntu, check disc for defects. I go press 'e' and edit the noquiet nosplash, radeon.modeset=0, --verbose text. nothing works, the fan is spinning like crazy.
