Which client to use ?

Hello! Which is the best client for msn avaliable for kde?
Should I use kopete,amsn or kmess?

I am using Kmess and it works very well.

Note that Kmess version in official repositories doesn't work well because Microsoft changed some server configurations and it broke all free messengers.

You have to compile Kmess from git or find ppa with updated Kmess. I found this one: https://launchpad.net/~bill-zt/+archive/kmess .

I should add that amsn and kopete are no longer maintained (they are dead projects).

I think it is(was). It still works, but if you find some bugs, they probably won't be fixed.

Telepathy. Beta, but it looks extremely promising.

I use Kopete and it works fine.

Most IM can be done through a web browser window (like Firefox or whatever), though. My kids use that, now, and have stopped using any sort of IM client whatsoever.

They use that for SMS texting, too (since I don't allow them to text on cell phones).

It's universal that way. Kind of makes IM clients obsolete altogether.
