Unable to run Ubuntu Live CD 10.04 with EMC2

I am trying to run a Live CD ubuntu 10.04 with EMC2 on my 2 yr old HP Pavilion Elite e9120fPC. I was able to do 8.04 but 10.04 won't work. Although printing appears on the screen in the beginning this soon stops, the screen goes black, while the CD player continues to make noise like it is working.

Any suggestions why this is happening and what to do?

Solved.
I figured out how to load the ubuntu 10.04 live cd with EMC2.
