Hi
I just did a fresh install for Ubuntu 11.10. All systems & display running fine.
I have the following:
ATI Radeon HD4870 1 GB graphics card.
Top right of the screen, I clicked an icon to open a drivers dialog. 2 fglrx options were available to select from. I chose one them to download and install. When that was done, I rebooted to activate the display driver.
It went to reboot and I only managed to see the Ubuntu spash screen before my monitor says "Signal out of range" and I get a black screen. The light on my monitor went from green to amber.
It is on the login screen. But I can't see it.
I log on anyway with my passphrase. Hit Ctrl+Alt+T for the terminal screen. Typed sudo reboot and then my passphrase and I can see my screen again but it's going to reboot.
Any ideas?
