I have used Universal USB installer to install Ubuntu 11.10 onto my 2GB USB stick, I put it into my laptop, which has nothing but a corrupted Windows 7 on it, and I tried to boot from it. I got to this Ubuntu screen called Installer Boot menu.
Here are my options:

Run Ubuntu from this USB
Install Ubuntu on a Hard Disk
Test Memory
Boot from first Hard Disk
Advanced Options (Empty)
Help

If I do any of the first 4 options, some commands run through, then eventually the screen goes black. The computer doesn't turn off, just the screen. If I do the fist option, the screen goes black but I can hear the Ubuntu intro sound like the OS has started up, but I cannot see it. I was trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 64 Bit, I have an Intel Celeron processor and 2GB of RAM if that helps any.

I got it to work by installing 10.10 32 Bit, Solved.
