Hello,

I have been searching around for my problem in here but haven't found anything that really pertains.

I'm running the latest Kubuntu 11.10 on my machine, and i decided to try a KVM switch as I always have multiple computers.

Video looks good, mouse works. But the keyboard does not function. I am just stuck at the log in screen unable to type my password in.

here is the KVM in question.

any useful info would be good, thank you.

Worked on it more last night and two other versions of Ubuntu displayed the exact same behavior.

I RMA'd the KVM this morning.

Can anybody recommend a KVM that does work for them?

New to this forum, so Cheers!
I'm using a IP KVM from minicom (http://minicom.com/kvm_smart116ip.htm)but it has VGA and not DVI. Maybe they have something for you...

I've used KVM switches for several years, and although I haven't seen your specific issue, with just the keyboard not functioning (typically I've seen issues where no USB functions, not just the keyboard), but I would recommend checking out a connectpro switch. The UD-14+ is one that I use for DVI, but I used to have the VGA version as well. The USB is much more stable, it seems, than others. It has something to do with making computers think your keyboard/mouse are always directly connected, and no re-recognizing every time you switch ports.
