Hey Guys,

Not an actual "problem" post, but more curiosity with how many people are still using Ubuntu 10.10?

I tried 11.10 for a while, but couldn't get use to Unity, so reverted back.....was curious if there were others as well?

Thanks.

I'm not using 10.10, but 11.04. Sure, I sometimes install 11.10 on other partitions, but 11.04 is my OS for daily use.

When 12.04 comes, 11.04 will finally have to go. ;)

I have 10.04 and 10.010 installed on old machine. My aunt is using 10.10 and is happy with it. Mostly she's using it for surfing and basic docs stuff.

I cant really say, they are like candy ! They are all sweet ! just depends on what flavor of the day you want ! but I find 10.04 and 10.10 to run about the same, 11.04 has the "Transition" factor, 11.10 kinda buggie, and 12.04 to be very stable for an alpha, and they are coming out with new toys all the time ! The new Compiz sill needs a lot of work !!! a lot !
Off topic: I predict you will see a fazing out of the CCSM, and controls placed in the settings manager !

If you used KDE, the versions would actually get better as the number goes up.

I got all excited about 11.10, installed it on my netbook at the release of the beta2 and it's rocked on there ever since.

However, on my desktop machine it was nothing but trouble, repeatedly freezing for no discernable reason. No apparent hardware or installation issues (i tried a variety of different install sources - including the one that works so well on my netbook). The upshot being that i wiped it and installed 10.10 in its place ***with no issues at all*** so that's what i'm sticking with until April, when i will replace it with 10.04.

I'm actually quite a fan of Unity, so that's not an issue for me, but stability IS, and the continuing kernel panics i'm getting (on my netbook) with successive dl's of the alpha and daily releases of PP are turning me right off the idea of upgrading it with the Unity LTS, so that too will revert to 10.04 in April.

Back to the future? :)
