View Full Version : [ubuntu] ubuntu installation stuck always

hello everyone.
i try to install ubuntu 11.10 on a compaq presario v5000.
AMD turion 64, graphic ATI.
i try with i386 and AMD64 but the installation always stucks after choosing (or not) a network.
i try the i386 alternate but it stucks when trying to retrieving disks.
how can i do?

Hi bepperk,

Have you checked the md5sum of the downloaded .iso?

What medium are you using for the install CD/DVD or USB?

Does the Live CD work or hang before the desktop comes up?

Some questions that might help you get it installed.

yes the md5 is correct
i'm using CD
the live CD works

i found that changing advanced option the installation goes on.
but the software installation always fails.
help

ok now i can run installation even if i don't select any advanced option.
but the software installation always fails.

yes.
the installation always fail when running post-installation trigger.
