Remove Desktop Icons

Noob question here. I just installed Xubuntu 11.10 and cannot figure out how to remove the 3 icons that come on the desktop by default (Home, File System, Trash). Anyone willing to help out? Much appreciated.

Go to Settings Manager, and left click, then go to Desktop, there will be tabs across the top, click icons, then uncheck the icons you don't want on the desktop.
