hi, i just started using ubuntu 11.10, and have a new ipod nano 8GB 6th gen. have read that newest gtkpod 2.1.1 can sync with my ipod, but cannot figure out how to install it. i have tried to download it from gtkpod website directly, but after downloading i just got a folder with many files and cannot use it. my ubuntu software senter only shows version 2.1.0, and although i managed to install it and use it, it cannot sync with my ipod. would be great if anyone can help me. thanks!

I would love to know that as well. I can't figure out how to install it after downloading the folder. There is an install-sh file in the folder but I am not sure if that's what I use to install with.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 as well as Zorin 5.

Hi nakaziii and nakaziii,

2.1.1 is already in Debian testing/unstable and Ubuntu precise. You can try those packages. If there are missing or broken dependencies, I recommend to recompile gtkpod (and broken deps) on base of precise packages.

Kind regards
