View Full Version : [ubuntu] Resource Temporarily Unavailable

Hi All,

I have been trying to figure out exactly why I keep getting this error message when running mii-tool.

"SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth1' failed: Resource temporarily unavailable"

When I go to check Network Configurations->Network Interfaces (using Webmin), it shows eth1 as Ethernet unknown, no address configured and none in the Type, IPv4, and Netmask fields. Is there a way to set it or are my connections all wrong?

How I have this server connected (SunFire V20z) is both Gigabit ports are connected to my AT&T 2Wire Ethernet/Wifi router. Do they need to be on a separate router and not directly to my 2Wire (which is essentially a DSL modem with built-in WiFi and 4-port router)? Any ideas or suggestions would be nice. I have already checked instructions to server and followed what I could in those but still get this error. I would like to solve it if possible.

I'm running the latest Ubuntu Server OS. Other port is working fine.
