11.10 alternate install (is it possible to try not install)

hey everyone, i've had trouble getting ubuntu 11.10 install it keeps dropping into busybox the alternate download works but there is no option to try before you install. is it possible to try 11.10 from the alternate download with out installing? any help would be great thanks.

Unless something has changed since I last used an "alternate install" disk, they are are geared towards installation only and don't come with a "try" option.
