I want to achieve Ubuntu Command Line interface without any GUI or any app installed on it. I just want to practice the Linux commands. I tried installing Ubuntu Minimal Edition. But it never worked.
I want to ask that If I install ubuntu server Edition without selecting any server software package, will it be equivalent to Ubuntu Minimal Edition?
If not, what is the difference between both except KERNEL?
As I know kernel for server edition is optimized for Server.

Minimal is made to start installation with the minimal list of packages vs the 700 Mb iso.
Cant answer about the server details, sorry.

But it never worked.

Can you expand on this statement? :)
