Unable to fetch item from backend error

Hey guys, yesterday after several updates, I am getting a pop-up every time I log in
title Unknown Error and the text "Unable to fetch item from backend".

It's so anoying, it reminds me Windows ME with error pop ups on start.

Could it be related to this bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289097 ? I'm also seeeing this after upgrading to Kubuntu 11.10.

I have the same error when I boot up.

I uninstalled kMail and it didn't make a difference.

It's been happening from 11.04 right up to 12.04 (or possibly from 11.10, I do remember making plenty of updates since it started happening, though it may have been that only one of those was a distribution update).

We will be running Kubuntu 17.10 and the problem will persist.
