I am running 12.04 daily builds from 2012-01-18, and it seems as if updates are available almost every day. If I keep applying the updates until April, will I have the final versions of Kubuntu and Ubuntu?

+1 a fresh install at release will give you a more bug free system, a lot of changes happen along the way to release.
