Hey all,
I was recently in the process of updating Ubuntu 11.10 when my computer then went into hibernation while I was out. When returned and turned on the computer, the installation had not finished, and there were quite a few errors on the installation terminal screen. I quit the installation process and went back into Update Manager to try and sort out what had not worked (probably due to networking problems). When prompted for my password, I typed in the usual one and it was not recognized. My root password is still recognized when I sign in, so I'm not sure where Ubuntu is lost here.
To sum up:
I just want to repeat the upgrade and finish it off, but my password is not being recognized.
I'm still a bit new to Ubuntu, so explaining things straight up and clear would be seriously appreciated.
Thanks!
