Greetings for All!

I am a newbie in ubuntu programming world although I had been using ubuntu for past 5 years and the reason to enter in ubuntu programming is my job; frankly speaking. A couple of days ago, my boss came to my cubicle and instructed me to make some plan & design a workflow that will result in customized ubuntu linux distribution for our organization. Since that, I am searching for same and came across this forum.

Enough of the stories, now the point is I need a custom ubuntu linux distribution for my organization. At first I need to change the GUI appearance of ubuntu linux (Most probably 11.10). Your help & guidance is needed in this project. I have named the thread as "Customized Ubuntu Linux Project", so that all discussion related to this project will be done in same thread that will help any other newbie with same task in future as well.

Waiting for your suggestion & guidance.

Sam

Since it is for an organization, I believe I would probably base your project on the next LTS release (12.04) since it will be supported much longer (I believe this next version is going to be supported for 5 years rather than the typical 3 of an LTS (long term support), while release 11.10 is only supported for the typical 18 month period.

Yeah bkratz! I am also feeling the same, but for now I am working on 2 releases simulatneously, i.e. on 10.4 & 11.10

oxama,
Have you looked at this?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/u-customizer/

"Cusotomizer is advanced LiveCD customization tool. With it you can build own distribution using Ubuntu-Mini-Remix ISO-image ( http://www.ubuntu-mini-remix.org/ ) or regular Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu or Lubuntu ISO with a few mouse clicks."
