I have Ubuntu 11.10 running Gnome 3 on VirtualBox. I have installed and tried to use several clipboard managers including GPaste. With each I can see the items on my clipboard history but I can't get anything to actually paste into an application. I've tested using GEdit and Libre Office Writer.

Has anyone encountered this issue or had success getting GPaste or another clipboard manager to function correctly on Ubuntu 11.10 running Gnome3?

Using ClipIt 1.4.1, works fine! http://clipit.rspwn.com/

I've found gpaste and clipit don't always work for me in gnome-shell. Gpaste had all sorts of bugs and clipit (v1.4.1) sometimes causes the clipboard to not work between some applications. I have recently been using diodon (v0.7.0 from ppa) and it seems to work ok.

Glipper also works fine for me.

I use Pastie successfully for Unity and the Gnome Shell . The icon appears at the bottom in the shell and you have to move cursor to bottom right to use the icon .

Parcellite's development has essentially stalled and has not kept up with modern ubuntu. It is not the best choice anymore. E.g. See http://my.opera.com/ruario/blog/2011/12/04/optimising-parcellite-for-use-under-ubuntu.
