Lost mail

I am new to 11.1 and Thunderbird Mail. I thought I would try it out, BUT i found out it moves all new mail from our yahoo mailbox. But I wanted to keep a copy of the mail on yahoo mail that I share with the rest of my family. SO I deleated the Thunderbird account. The problem is now I have lost about 50 unopened mails.

They are somewhere in my home dir. under .thunderbird/** . How do I retrieve them??
