Hi,

I am trying to write a script in order to handle my mp3 library in a faster way..

Is there a way to gain access and modify the metadata of mp3 files?

For example if name is to be changed a simple rename would do but in case I want to change the Artist name, then I have to get in a music application and edit the details of the file..

So what I am trying to find out here is whether there is a possible way to do this without opening an app, lets just say by executing a script..

Thanks

Most of my need for MP3 medtadata scripting vanished when I discovered EasyTag (somewhere in the reporitory). It will batch-edit any MP3 tag you can dream of.

I remember trying EasyTag a while ago but development had stalled and I was annoyed with a couple of bugs. Has it picked back up? I was surprised that such a useful app seemed to be abandoned.
