Kubuntu 11.10 problem

I've installed Kubuntu 11.10 on HP Mini. Software-center is crashing when I start it. And I can't do "sudo apt-get update","sudo apt-get upgrade","sudo apt-get install program-name" because it says "Failed to fetch.." why? what's the problem??

Go to muon package manager, settings menu>configure software sources and change to main server.

Then do sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.
