If I log into the Ubuntu 2D desktop rather than the Compiz-enabled one, I've found what seems to be an odd bug: making any window fullscreen will simply not draw the title bar widgets (close/minimize/maximize). The button functions themselves are there, it's just as if the buttons are invisible. Is there some what I can fix this?
Here's what I'm seeing (Chromium being the example):

I have installed Advanced Settings and made a couple of changes:

EDIT: And just to re-iterate, this does not occur on the Ubuntu 3D desktop, although that has its own graphical quirks (things failing to load, windows being resistant to Alt+Tab sometimes, etc.)
