hey folkes,

so, the guys i work for want to buy books for their employees (if it is work related) and i'm wondering what to get. we use mainly ubuntu and, but also centos and solaris, there is a heavy emphasis on using vi and vim and writing bash scripts. most of my programming is currently in java, though in the future i think python, perl, tcl are going to be the main candidates.

in the past i've really liked shcuam's outline of * books as they tend to have a fairly interactive element.

So does anyone have any good book advice, i've been thinking about getting a book on vim or shell scripting. any help?

thanks for all and any help
