View Full Version : [ubuntu] windows installer fails everytime

i am trying to install ubuntu 11.10 with the windows installer and just about at the very end it pops up an error sayin an error has occured....no such file or directory. can anyone please help me?

ive also been through same problem few days ago ...
I cant say u a solution rather i can suggest u an alternative.
when this problem hit me i ve made a bootable cd and ive booted there was no problem .
Rather u can use a pendrive even...
sometimes windows behave strangely were we dont have any solution n v dont understand its behaviour its better to leave it .....

IF your intention is to install from INSIDE Windows using the Wubi installer, you can still do that using a CD or USB, but you still have to boot into Windows first. If you boot using the CD or USB, it will present options for installing OUTSIDE of Windows, and it will need to modify your partitions to do that.

In vista and 7 you don't double click wubi.exe to start the install. You need to do right-click, Run As Administrator for maximum permissions. Usually that helps if the problem is not of a different nature.
