Installation stalled at main screen

this newbi is trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 64 bits. All goes well until the installation panel comes up asking to try or install Ubuntu. Reason is my mouse and keyboard is no longer active (powered). What can I do?

doesn't restarting your machine and running the installation again solve the issue?...is it same with other ubuntu liveCD you try?? have you tried some other dostros too??
