Hello.

No matter what 3D game I try to start the screen goes blank.. At the momet im trying to get Doom 3 running. Ive seen that others have the same problem, but it seems that there is no solution, or am i wrong?

Ive used these guides as when i installed my system and Doom 3:
[http://ubuntuguide.org] and [http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom]

This is my XF86 config, please have a look at it and see if there are any errors:

A different version of the nvidia driver might help. Also, have you tried running 3d apps or games in a window? glxgears for instance defaults to a window. I'm sure doom3 has a fullscreen option in the config files for you to disable.

You are on Hoary, right?

As of yesterday Hoary switched back from polypaudio to esd. Try killing esd before you start your game.
killall esd
Cheers,
