Usually whenever I have a problem I just ask and somebody already knows how to solve it. So I've just got into the habit of asking without reporting the bug lol. I'll do it now.

I would wait a few hour and try again.

I am testing Ubuntu 12.04 and an update the other day tried to update Libreoffice and failed to download Libre-office core making Libreoffice unusable. I tried to remove and re-install Libreoffice but it was next to impossible because of broken dependences. In fact I could not run updates because of this problem.

A few hours later I was able to do the update again and everything was fixed. I think that there was a problem with the links to some packages in the repositories.

Now, I have no problem with that happening on a development branch of Ubuntu, but since then I have seen a few posts like your post that seem to say to me that a similar thing is happening to the 11.10 repositories.

So, trying waiting to see if someone had noticed the problem and is fixing it.

You could also try changing the download site or mirror that is being used as a repository for you. You do this in Software Sources. I changed to a different mirror.

Regards.
