Is there anyway to install multiple operating systems along side 10.4 with encrypted lvm? Ubuntu 10.4 is where I do most of my web surfing and computer use but would also like to have windows xp and backtrack 5. The computer doesn't necessarily have to be encrypted but I want protection from theft or loss since this is a laptop. Any suggestions?

standard installation:

- share a single swap partition with all the OS
- share a single /home too.

Ok, morning crew here :D

I don't use encryption so no help there. I wonder though. Would a virtual machine (http://www.googlubuntu.com/results/?cx=006238239194895611142:u-ocqbntw_o&q=virtual+machine&sa=Search&cof=FORID:9) meet your needs for multiple OS instead of multi boot (http://www.googlubuntu.com/results/?cx=006238239194895611142:u-ocqbntw_o&q=multi+boot&sa=Search&cof=FORID:9).

As for as windows goes I could probably run a vm but not for the things I need to use in backtrack. Also the laptop only has 3 gigs of ram so I'm a little skeptical of running vm's on a system that's already degraded in performance due to hd encryption. Dino, would all 3 share the same boot partition? How big should I make all the partitions for 3 os's and not just two.
